Order From Chaos ⏩ Inside the Mind of an Executive Content Curator**

Who doesn't want to be better organized?

Most of us have no problems when it comes to executing in our roles YET- when it comes to our career path and the "thought leadership" that will ultimately drive it to greater success, we are often at odds with getting it altogether.

Enter an Executive Content Curator - 1st it’s important to understand the scope of my role.

At the end of 2019 I was became aware of an issue among a few growth stage SaaS Csuites in my network, who due to the fast paced, fast evolving nature of the ScaleUp Ecosystem they needed to be more active online, to nurture and cultivate their networks, BUT after their priorities of mentoring their team and working out the day to day deadlines, there wasn't time (or energy) left .

It's understandable, being time strapped and tapped out after the daily grind  is a REAL thing.

SO where do you go when you need to be more consistently visible, have so much content your head is going to explode 🀯 and you need a little boost in getting it out there?

At the time they saw 2 choices:

Struggle along on their own

OR

Hire costly content creator and risk the content they produced being too generic for their specific audience or did not reflect their voice at all.

My group tried it both ways ...needless to say ..if either solution worked for them they wouldn't have been venting it to me.

Sooo as I had done before, noticing a market need -I created a program that filled that SPACE,

Growth Stage SaaS Executive Content Curator. (aka Influence Accelerator, yes I made up that role for myself)

I'm a 'curator' not a writer, or a creator.

Curator? Think Museums - the fabulous display part not the old relic part

They DON'T CREATE the amazing values they display ➑ they collect them, sort by subject and display them so those interested can find what they seek information about.

When the pandemic hit - I turned my “side hustle” into a full time role and I haven’t looked back.

What can you curate?

I collect links, drafts, ideas, PR history, half finished blogs/articles, previously, published works, Industry relevant articles, anything and everything can be curated - here’s a sample list

How does one curate?

After reviewing all the material and solidifying the customers theme/career & network goal - I repurpose, re-organize and schedule bits of snackable content, before open.ai I used Jarvis, now Jasper, Wordtune, and as always my trusty thesaurus.

So how do I keep everyone’s “stuff” organized?

It's a combo of files on my computer, emails, texts, Dropbox, email clips, hyperlinks, and YES I'm team GD (google doc)- and whatever else the customers send.

Sound chaotic? Believe me I struggled in the beginning…

Also like museums there are many, many pieces of value hidden in storage, and finding things without a general catalog was down to my memory and a basic drive.

UNTIL ⏩  I set up a Notion dashboard for each of my customers (and myself).

The top part for storing documents, drafts, action items for the program etc,

The bottom section is a content tracker. I set this up as a workflow, for us to work asynchronously if needed.

It also is used to store content/posts by date, platform, sort by content pillars and themes (color coded).

✨Hint: with chrome extension you can save to specific pages…

The really nifty feature is, it allows you to search for posts to repurpose/repost and sort by most engaging (reduce, resume, recycle not just for waste management πŸ˜‰).

AND toggling to the calendar view lets you see all your content at a glance by text, subject and date, all nicely color coded.

Want to jump start your Influence?

Starting your executive presence (or any personal professional digital presence) does not have to reinvent the wheel, starting the tiny habits that then build into a WHOLE presence can be basic.

βœ”4 Industry or experience quotes (with or w/o commentary, some with a basic graphic/pic),

βœ”4 industry/theme relevant articles with your commentary, industry knowledge

βœ” 4 micro text posts (snippets of your wisdom or pieces of podcasts, previous articles etc),

βœ”1-2 companies shares if appropriate, a professionally relevant ‘selfie’, a conference attendance, key note, event pics that are relevant.

= 13-16 posts for the month…

To START -Try ONE of these per week and slowly add, point is to START.

My big time saver is I'm team batch curate & schedule - sure you may come across something that you want to comment or post right away, but relying on all of your content to fall into your lap is just a fairly tale, all successful projects take a bit of planning and structure.

Keep drafts sorted by topic, 3 quips on one topic can be added together to make a new whole, or a previously published piece can be broken down into 3 parts.

Do not look at each post as an individual effort but rather ALL the content in the aggregate to solidify a theme, build an audience, be known for <your expertise>.

Most people have oodles of valuable content that they start and don't execute, or they think it has to be some HUGE pieces of unique or original thought leadership.

Your "customers" (companies that will hire you) need to know YOU know it, even if someone else has already said it.

Keep in mind you are not posting for your coworkers, you are sharing information to β©

Give Others a Leading Difference (GOLD !!) πŸ₯‡

Sharing GOLD is often well received, elevating both you and your audience, and the added bonus, it keeps YOU top of mind.

Well that's the peak into my inner madness, as always I'm open to comments, connection, best curations & storage tips.

I hope I have educated, inspired and even possibly entertained!

If you found this information useful.

Please let me know and/or share it!
